VicRoads Medical Assessments
Need a VicRoads medical assessment completed? We can help.
If VicRoads has asked you to complete a medical assessment to confirm your fitness to drive, you can book an appointment with one of our GPs.
A VicRoads medical assessment may be required because of your age, a medical condition, a change in your health, or as part of an ongoing review of your fitness to drive.
What to bring to your appointment
Please bring:
-
Your VicRoads medical assessment paperwork or letter
-
A current list of your medications
-
Your glasses or contact lenses if you use them for driving
-
Any relevant specialist reports or recent test results
-
Details of any medical conditions that may affect your ability to drive safely
Your GP will review your medical history, medications and current health and complete the relevant medical assessment. Depending on your circumstances, further tests or information from a specialist may be required before the assessment can be finalised.
Allow enough time for your appointment
VicRoads medical assessments can take longer than a standard consultation. When booking, please advise reception that your appointment is for a VicRoads Medical Assessment so that an appropriate appointment can be arranged.n’t leave your assessment until the last minute
If VicRoads has given you a due date, we recommend booking your GP appointment well in advance. Additional investigations, reports or specialist reviews may sometimes be required.
Contact Paynesville Medical Centre to book an appointment.
Vic Roads Medical Assessments are not covered by Medicare under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).
Because the primary purpose of a fitness to drive medical is to fulfill a legal or licensing requirement rather than treating an active illness, the assessment itself cannot be bulkb billed or claimed for a rebate.
